Joshua 6 (NIV)
A Testimony of Victory Before the Battle Ends
In life’s most challenging moments, our instinct is often to fight, control, or brace for the worst. But true faith asks us to do something fundamentally different: to declare victory while the work is still unfinished, and to praise God while the walls are still standing.

Facing the Storm in the Natural
When unexpected shifts occur, uncertainty has a way of amplifying our deepest fears. Learning that a supervisor is leaving is stressful enough—but discovering that the replacement is someone with whom you share a painful past, including prior conflict and official grievances, can feel like an absolute setup for trouble. In the natural, all evidence points toward incoming distress, tension, and defensive maneuvering.
Yet, it is precisely in these moments that spiritual discernment must override earthly perception. The whispers of anxiety, fear, and insecurity try to dictate the narrative, urging us to take matters into our own hands, react in self-defense, or panic.
The Divine Instruction: Pray, Wait, and Rest
Instead of stepping into the arena to fight in human strength, a higher instruction calls us to a different strategy: pray, wait, and rest.
Resting in the middle of a gathering storm is not passive resignation; it is an active, deliberate posture of trust. It means allowing God’s work to do the work, refusing to rush ahead of His timing, and listening closely for His direction.
When we yield our need for control, divine momentum takes over:
Situations begin to shift without human manipulation.
People and circumstances move in ways we could not have orchestrated.
Unexpected doors open from directions we never anticipated.
When God begins to rearrange the pieces, what looked like a trap becomes a platform for His power.
The Sound of the Trumpet: Declaring What Is to Come
The Feast of Trumpets serves as a profound reminder of the weight behind a divine call. The trumpet of God is not merely noise; it is a declaration of victory, a call to gather, and a signal that God Himself has entered the field. When that trumpet sounds, fear loses its voice, attacks lose their leverage, and His people stand covered, protected, and carried.
In Joshua 6, the walls of Jericho did not fall because of military strategy or physical force. They collapsed because the people obeyed, blew the trumpets, and lifted a shout of praise before the barrier gave way.
To pray, ask for forgiveness, praise God, and blow the trumpet in faith while the obstacle still stands is an act of spiritual warfare. It announces to every circumstance that the outcome does not belong to the problem—it belongs to the Lord.
Walking into a New Season
The battle may not be completely behind you, but the verdict has already been set. Standing on the promise that God fights for you means trusting Him to guard your peace, protect your name, and scatter every assignment of fear.
This is not a season of defeat or defensive survival. It is a season of new beginnings, success, and divine alignment—where the Lord Himself goes ahead to pave the road, finish what He started, and secure the victory.
